Lomami National Park
Lomami National Park is a tourist charm of the Democratic Republic of Congo found in the central region with Kindu as the nearest city. The park covers an area of 8,879 square kilometers stretching through the provinces of Tshopo and Maniema. The park’s area slightly overlaps into Tshuapa forests and the Lualaba river basin.
The park is made up of tropical lowland rainforest, savanna islands in the south and hill in the west. Lomami national park is a prominent Congo tourist destination harboring mammals like African forest elephants, rainforest giraffe and many rare primates like lesula, rare dryas monkey inoko, bonobo, Tshuapa red colobus, Lomami red colobus, Sclater’s Angolan colobus, northern black mangabey, Katanga red-tailed monkey, de Brazza’s monkey, Lomami river blue monkey, Congo basin wolf’s monkey, Lomami and river wolf’s monkey.
