6 Days Virunga, Nyiragongo and Kahuzi Biega

Explore congo in your 6 days virunga, nyiragongo and kahuzi beiga, exploring the major safari destinations that make congo such an amazing place to visit. track the gorillas twice in different destinations ie virunga national park and Kahuzi biega national park as well as hiking the one of the few active volcanoes in the world ( mount nyiragongo)

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali and transfer to Goma.

You will be welcomed at the airport by our guide who will then drive you to Goma in the DRC via Gisenyi for lunch. You have a chance to interact with the local here. You will also have beautiful scenery of lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Mikeno lodge/Bukima tented camp. FB

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking &Community walk

After an early morning breakfast you will head to the Virunga Park headquarters for a briefing before trekking. The search for the mountain gorillas will take about 2 hours then one hour with the gorilla snd you will head back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will be taken around in the nearby communities to interact with the local and share how they lead life then return to the lodge.

Day 3: Nyiragongo Hike
On this day we shall wake up a little more early as we head to the Nyiragongo active volcano. You will start you hike at around 10am after briefing and it will take you about 6 hours to reach the summit depending on your levels of energy. Dinner and overnight in tented camps at the summit. FB

Day 4: Nyiragongo & transfer to Kahuzi Biega national park

After breakfast we shall descent to the bottom of the mountain and we shall transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park where the lowland gorillas inhabit. There is a lot of other wildlife you will see in this entire adventure. Dinner and overnight at Orchid safari lodge. FB

Day 5: Eastern lowland gorilla trekking

Like the mountain gorillas, we shall have early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing. The same gorilla tracking rules apply here. After this trek we shall have our lunch packed lunch and then do communities walk in the evening to explore the culture of the people around this park.

DRC is a big country and full of culture so be sure to see a lot in the community walks.

Day 6: Transfer to Kigali and Departure.

After breakfast we travel back to Kigali to catch our flight back home.
