5 Days Rwanda and Uganda, Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari is an interesting safari package that is abit extended to 5 days. In this trip you will be able to visit two countries i.e. Rwanda & Uganda and you will also do two activities i.e. Gorilla Trekking and chimpanzee tracking.
Picking and dropping in Kigali
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
Start off your 5 Days Rwanda and Uganda safari and you will be picked up from an agreed location or your hotel in Kigali and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with a stopover on the way for lunch, take photos arriving Bwindi in the evening.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
Have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for a restful evening.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Morning breakfast will served and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s a 6-7 hours drive arriving at good time for evening game drive and later proceed to the lodge.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
You will wake up early to continue the 5 Days Rwanda and Uganda safari, have breakfast and embank for an early morning game drive in the Kisenyi region. While on the game drive, expect to see the big four game, antelopes, giraffes, warthogs and white Colobus monkeys just to mention a few.
You will then return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise along Kazinga channel where you will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and crocodiles at the lake shores.
Return and relax at lodge as above
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking at Kalinzu.
After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Queen Elizabeth national park with your tracking gears in Kalinzu. Search for the chimpanzees will also encounter you different bird species, this takes about 2-5 hours. Finding them is a lifetime experience as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls, you may also spot the black and white Colobus monkeys and the olive baboons.
Dinner and overnight as above
Day 6: Return to Kigali/Departure
Take an early morning breakfast then embark on your journey back to Kigali. Proceed to Kigali with en route lunch if time is available visit the Kigali genocide memorial and craft shops including Kimironko lodge. You will be dropped off at your own hotel/ drop you off at Kigali airport. End of the 5 Days Rwanda and Uganda
