Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trek, chimpanzee and wildlife Safari from Kigali

Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi.
Our company representative together with the driver / guide will come to pick you whenever you advise us in Kigali to meet and start on your journey to Bwindi with a visit in Kigali Market, genocide memorials and after, proceed to Bwindi driving through the border to Uganda. You will have time for lunch enroute to Bwindi.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest and Batwa Village Tour
Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for the trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi can last anywhere between 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.

On finding them, visitors are allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates and later return to the starting point where a certificate is awarded and meet the driver / guide and transfer back to the lodge.

Later in the evening, you will head out to the neighboring Batwa community for a cultural tour. Get a chance to interact with this indigenous tribe of Uganda and learn more about their historical and cultural heritage. You will also get to take part in their traditional singing and dancing performances.

Retire back to your lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park- Visit Bigodi Wetland for birding

Breakfast will be served early morning at your lodge. You will then check out and embark on about a 6 hours’ drive to Kibale National Park; stopping for lunch on your way and also a visit to the famous Amabere Ganyinamwiru caves in Fort Portal. Take a short hike to the caves where you will be greeted with a stunning waterfall at the entrance to the caves. Do take as many pictures as you wish before driving to your lodge to check-in and relaxation. Later have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Habituation.

Start your day with breakfast at your lodge early in the morning. Today you will be tracking chimpanzees in Kibale forest; and since you will be doing chimpanzees habituation, you will spend four hours with the chimpanzees once you have located them. Since this is a full day activity, please remember to carry your packed lunch from the lodge.

Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha
Enjoy your breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park with lunch en-route. You will enter the park through the Ishasha sector where on a lucky day; you may spot the tree climbing lions. Proceed and check in to your hotel, unwind, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Game Drive & Launch Cruise – Queen Elizabeth
Go for an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park where you will spot a lot of wildlife including African elephants, buffalos, antelopes, impala, among others and a lot of birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast, relax a bit and enjoy your lunch.

In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel inside Queen Elizabeth Park where you will come up close with hippos, crocodiles among other aquatic life and an array of birds on the bay! Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 7; Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala

Enjoy your breakfast and head for a morning game drive in the park. Do take your time to look out for any animals that you may not have since in your previous game drives in the park. After continue back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, arriving in Kampala in the evening. Drop off to your hotel in Kampala or the Airport for your onward flight
