This 5 days Kibale and Murchison Falls Wildlife Safari takes you on a magical expedition to Kibale National Park in western Uganda and Murchison Falls National Park in the northern part of Uganda. During this 5-days Uganda safari, you will be doing chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park and a game drive and launch cruise on the Nile River in Murchison Falls National Park.

Detailed Itinerary for 5 days Kibale and Murchison Falls Wildlife safari
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast on the first day of the 5 days Kibale and Murchison Falls Wildlife safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for another morning game drive where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed the previous day.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch where you will check out and start the journey to Kibale Forest National Park. On the way, you will enjoy stunning views of the crater lakes, tea plantations, views of the Rwenzori peaks among others. Upon arrival in Kibale National Park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and optional Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast on the second day of the safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will start trekking in the forest which takes 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees slept the previous night and during trekking you will have great views of other primates like grey-cheeked mangabey, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, birds, plants among others.
Once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their environment where you will watch them feed, breastfeed, hunt, fight, play, mate, rest, take photos, and record videos with a flashless camera. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you can opt to go for an interesting (optional) nature walk in the Bigodi swamp where you will be able to view different primates, plant and tree species, and a variety of bird species among others. After the Bigodi swamp walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast on the third day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park which is the largest national park in Uganda. It’s a whole day’s journey to Murchison Falls National Park and on the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy scenic views of Rwenzori mountain ranges, crater lakes, tea plantations, and traditional homesteads among others.
Upon arrival, you will drive to the top of the falls where you will have spectacular views of the waterfall, and enjoy water splashes, and beautiful scenery among others. You will later drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in the park. during the game drive you will be rewarded with great views of the sunrise, animals like giraffes, waterbucks, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Jacksons hartebeest, Oribi, view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an interesting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. during the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours, you will have stunning views of hippos, crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes along the shores, water birds like cormorants, kingfishers, and fish eagles among others. After the boat ride you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 5: Ziwa Rhino Trekking and Departure to Entebbe
On the last day of the 5 days Kibale and Murchison Falls Wildlife safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala. On the way, you will have an en-route lunch and a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. After rhino tracking, you will continue the journey to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advice.
