This 4 Days Uganda Gorillas and Lake Mburo Safari takes you on a wildlife expedition in the ‘Pearl of Africa.’ During these 4 Days Uganda safari tour, you will journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will track mountain gorillas and also spend quality time on a cultural experience when you visit the famous Batwa communities that live near the park. You will then drive to Lake Mburo National Park where you will encounter a variety savannah wildlife during your game drive and boat cruise in the park. Pickup and drop off is in Kampala/Entebbe.

Detailed itinerary for 4 Days Uganda Gorillas and Lake Mburo Safari.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park,

In accordance with your location in Kampala, on the first day of the four-day Bwindi gorilla and Lake Mburo safari, you will be greeted by our driving guide, who will educate you on the safari before beginning the travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is a full-day journey, including an en-route lunch stop at Mbarara.

After lunch, you will go to the park, enjoying amazing views of the lovely environment, terraced farmlands, countryside, and Kigezi hills along the route. Upon arriving in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and sleep.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

After an early breakfast on the second day of the four-day Bwindi gorilla and Lake Mburo safari, you will carry a packed lunch from the lodge and be picked up by your driving guide to proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on the laws and regulations to observe while trekking. Following the briefing, you will be separated into groups of eight individuals, with each group assigned a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is educated about gorillas and familiar with gorilla trekking pathways.

Gorilla trekking expeditions in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes between 30 minutes and 7 hours, depending on where the mountain gorillas are since they prefer to migrate from one location to another in quest of food.

During the journey, you will see other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, chimps, a variety of bird species, and many plant types. Once the gorillas are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, where you will be able to learn about their behaviors and lifestyle, watch them go about their daily activities such as feeding, playing, and breastfeeding, and take pictures and record the incredible moments to show others back home.

After one hour with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and later meet up with your driver guide to go for an exciting Batwa trail experience which gives you the opportunity to interact with the Batwa people, learn about their culture, way of life, and visit their homesteads, among other things. After the Batwa trail you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

On the third day of your four-day Bwindi gorilla and Lake Mburo safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the travel to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival at the park, you will check into the lodge for lunch before embarking on an intriguing boat ride. During the 2-hour boat journey, you will see hippos in the water, crocodiles lounging on the coasts, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs sipping water along the shoreline, and other wildlife. Following the boat ride, you will return to the lodge for dinner and stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Kampala

After an early breakfast on the final day of your four-day Bwindi gorilla and Lake Mburo safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for a morning game drive to see animals when they are most active. During the game drive, you will witness creatures such as zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, elands, warthogs, impalas, and topis. After the wildlife drive, you’ll leave the park and head to Kampala.

On the route, you will stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for lunch, photographs, and souvenirs. From the Equator, you will proceed to Kampala, where your driver guide will drop you off at whatever location you specify.
