Day 1: Transfer from Arusha and Transfer to Serengeti National Park.
On day 1 of your 5 days Serengeti Migration Safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and driven to Ngorongoro crater for a game drive. Upon your arrival in the Ngorongoro crater area, you will drive about 2000 feet down the crater for your game drive. Get a chance to explore the world’s 8th natural wonder, which is the unspoken wildlife populations including lions, giraffes, leopards, wildebeests, and cheetahs to mention but a few. You will have a break to enjoy your packed lunch before continuing with your game drive as you continue to explore this stunning crater, which was formed over 2.5 million years ago as a result of volcanic action.
Later, retire to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Drive and Transfer to Serengeti National Park
You will be picked from your lodge after breakfast and then driven to the northern part of Serengeti National Park with your packed lunch. Upon your arrival in Serengeti National Park, you will enjoy a guided game drive, viewing the great migration.
The Serengeti National Park is well-known for its large concentration of resident species, which includes Africa’s iconic ‘Big Five’ – lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. The Serengeti National Park has the greatest lion population in Africa, which is owing to the richness of prey species; around 3,000 lions reside in the Serengeti habitat.
Dinner will be served at your lodge or camp.
Day 3&4: Game Drive in Northern Serengeti
On days three and four of your five-day Serengeti migrating Safari, you will eat breakfast before departing with your packed lunch for a full-day game drive in the North Mara section of Serengeti National Park, following the migrating herds.
During this two-day game drives in the northern Serengeti, you will get the opportunity to discover the plains of the North Mara, which spring to life and transform into a wildlife paradise between August and October. You will explore the Mara River region and watch animals crossing the crocodile-infested river. It is not uncommon to witness herds crossing the Mara River north one day and then returning south a few days later.
River crossings at Kogatende begin every day in August when the huge herd settles into the region. From August to October, game viewing in this area of Serengeti National Park is at its peak, with river crossings almost assured every day. The herds travel in no discernible pattern, crossing the river back and forth in response to the rainfall and accompanying new grasses.
It is not uncommon to witness herds crossing in opposite directions on the same day. Please keep in mind that seeing the Mara River crossing is not always guaranteed, especially if you are not visiting during August and October, when the migration is at its peak.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Transfer Back to Arusha.
Following breakfast on the last day of your 5 day Serengeti Migration Safari, you will make your way out of the park for an en route morning wildlife drive before returning to Arusha, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for your return flight.
