This 4 days Rwanda double gorilla trek and golden monkey tour gives you the opportunity to enjoy double gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, which means that you get to experience two different gorilla families in the park. In addition to this, you will also embark on a golden monkey trekking experience in the park before heading back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off.

Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trek and Golden Monkey Tour.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by your driver guide from our company. After a brief meet and greet session with your driver guide, you will embark on a tour of Kigali city where you will visit interesting places such as; the genocide memorial center, Inema Arts Center, Caplaki craft village, and the national museum among others. (Please note that the city tour depends on your arrival time in Kigali). You will be transferred to your hotel in Kigali.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla Trekking
Wakeup to an early morning breakfast and set off from Kigali at 4:30 am. You will report to the park headquarters at 7am for briefing and allocation of Gorilla trekking groups. Later, you will head into the cold and misty forested slopes of Virunga National Park for your Gorilla trek.
The trek can be anywhere between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas and upon finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to see and take photos after which you exit the forest.
Have lunch and spend the rest of your evening at leisure. Later have dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trek
After having your breakfast, meet up with your driver guide and drive to the park’s briefing point. Today, you will be visiting another gorilla family in the park. After your briefing and group allocation, you will be assigned a guide and range. Proceed with your hike to the forest in search for your gorilla family. This might take anywhere between 1-6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you have located a group, you will be given an hour to spend with the gorillas.
After your gorilla trek, have your packed lunch that you carried from your lodge and head back to base, where you will find your driver guide waiting for you. After your lunch, you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trek and Drop off in Kigali
After having your breakfast, you will check out of your hotel. Your driver guide will drive you to the park’s briefing point where you will receive your briefing from the park’s head ranger before heading into the forest in such for a golden monkey family.
Once you have located a golden monkey family, you will be given an hour to spend with these playful primates. Have lunch after your trek and then your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport in time to check in and board your flight departing.
