3 Days Nyungwe Forest National park
3 Days Nyungwe Forest National park is a short safari that will see you traverse Rwanda to Nyungwe National Park and its wildlife species.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe national park
On arrival to Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills, you will be welcomed by your driver guide who will take you on a brief city tour then set off to the south of Rwanda. You will drive for about 5 hours passing by Nyanza King’s palace, Butare Museum and genocide points of Huye and Murambi with an en-route lunch.
Reach the park in the evening. Spend the evening at leisure or choose to go for an optional activity if you are feeling energetic but it is advisable to rest in anticipation for the next day. Dinner and overnight at the lodge of chosen range.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
On day 2 of the 3 Days Nyungwe Forest National park safari, wake up as early as 4 am. Have breakfast and set off into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. The Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe starts from Uwinka/ Cyamudongo as early as 5:30 am. There is a chimpanzee family of about 6 individuals to visit. You may spend about 3 hours until you meet these creatures. You may not stay in one place like with the gorillas as these animals are jumpy and are ever swinging on the trees about the place.
After the trek, return to your accommodation for lunch then return to the park in the afternoon for your canopy walk. This bridge is hang up above the forest so you get to see the wildlife from above and is a great point for bird watchers. Return to your accommodation before sunset. Dinner and overnight at accommodation as the night before.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and city tour
Wake up for a tasty breakfast in the misty Nyungwe, check out of your accommodation and meet your driver guide who will be waiting to transfer you back to Kigali. Enroute you may visit the spots which you may have missed on day one then connect to Kigali for your brief visit of The Genocide Memorial Grounds and the Kimironko market. Connect for your drop off at the airport or at your location in Kigali as you will advise.
