Nyiragongo Volcano Trek

The Nyiragongo Volcano trek package is a short but interesting hiking safaris. The travelers arrive in Goma town, hike up the mountain and spend a night up at the volcano. The next day they will descend and conclude the safaris.

Day 1: The travelers on this hiking safari are meant to cross the Grande Barriere border by at least 7:00am. In the same hiking morning, they will check in with Virunga National Park offices for tourism by at least 8:00 am. The Virunga Tourism office is located at the Grande Barriere border post building, opposite to the passport control. At the Virunga tourism offices the hikers/trekkers will be provided with a hiking permit which they must present at the mountain before the start off the trek.

When the guests are done with the check in process at the Virunga Tourism offices, they are transferred to the Kibati Patrol post where all the Virunga hikes start. The trek starts at around 10:00 am and most of the trekkers arrive at the top (Volcano) at around 5:00pm. At the top of Virunga, the trekkers spend a night as they enjoy the view of the red hot Lava.

Day 2: The trekkers start to descend from the mountain to Kibati patrol post at around 6:00 am to conclude their Nyiragongo Volcano trek. On arrival at the bottom of the mountain, the guests are taken back to Goma with a drop off at Grande Barriere.

Not included in this package: Nyiragongo backpack, porter fees, gratuities and anything of a personal nature.
