Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Budget Kenya Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Depending on your time of arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by our company representative from Explore Rwanda Tours and briefed about your tour. You will then be transferred to your hotel for check-in. If your flight arrived in Nairobi early, then you can do an optional city tour and visit places such as the museum of illusion, craft market, giraffe center and snake park if time allows.
Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2&3: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After having your breakfast, you will be met by your driver guide outside your hotel/lodge and drive to Maasai Mara National Park with a stopover lunch en-route and a visit to the Maasai village in Narok for a cultural community tour. Get a chance to indulge in the traditional Maasai culture and lifestyle as you explore their unique manyattas (traditional Maasai homes), and craft stalls where you can buy yourself some beautiful souvenirs.
Proceed driving to Maasai Mara park where you will check into your lodge and then head out for an evening game drive in the park. Enjoy undisputed wildlife game drives in the park as you discover a number of wildlife animals roaming the savannah plains freely. Look out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, hartebeests, giraffes and so many more.
Dinner will be served at your lodge.
Day 4: Hot Air Balloon Tour and Game Drive
Wake up early in the morning and proceed to your briefing point for your hot air balloon tour. Although this tour depends on the weather for the day, it offers you a unique experience of the park and wildlife which you will get to view while in the sky. Another major highlight of the hot air balloon tours in Maasai Mara is the beautiful sunrise over the horizon. Do take time to capture beautiful moments as you watch the sunrise. Your tour experience will be sealed with delicious breakfast in the African bush overlooking the park.
You will have a game drive in the park for the rest of the day with only a break for lunch and dinner at your lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Amboseli National Park
After having your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Amboseli National Park which is approximately and 6-7 hours’ drive. You will have a stopover for lunch en-route to the park. Upon your arrival in Amboseli national park, you will embark on a guided game drive in the park. Amboseli national park is well known for its large herd of savannah elephants, zebras, lions, cheetahs, giraffes and more than 400 species of birds.
Dinner will be served at your lodge.
Day 6: Full Day Game Drive
Start your day with breakfast at your lodge. Head out with your driver guide for a day packed of game drives in the park. Look out for a variety of wildlife including hippos, giraffes, waterbucks, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, gazelles, hyenas, lions, wildebeest, jackals and cheetahs among others. And about 350 bird species, including flamingos, cormorants, storks, and ostriches.
Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 7: Transfer Back to Nairobi and drop-off
Enjoy your last breakfast in the park and check out of your lodge. You will drive back to Nairobi where your driver guide will drop you off at a hotel of your choice or Jomo Kenyatta international airport.
