3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Safari

3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Safari is a short interesting lowland gorilla trekking safari that will take you to explore the wildlife in D.R Congo.

Day 1: Pick-up and cross to Bukavu

Start the 3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Safari with a pick up from the location in Kigali where you will be by our company representative guide. You will drive for about 7 hours through Nyungwe Forest National Park as you enjoy the stunning rolling hills of Rusizi. You will have a stopover for lunch after which you will cross over through the Cyangugu border direct to Bukavu in Congo. When you reach Bukavu, you will head straight to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Bukavu is the nearest town to Kahuzi Biega National Park and the lodge will be Orchid Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Lowland Gorilla trekking – Cyangungu

Wake up early on day 2 of the 3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Safari and have a well-prepared breakfast. After your breakfast meal, you will be driven straight to the park headquarters for about 45 minutes. On arrival at the headquarters, you will head straight into a briefing by the park officials about the lowland gorilla trekking. After that, you will start off the trek in the valleys of Kahuzi Biega National Park. Usually, depending on the movement of these lowland gorillas, you will take about 1-6 hours to find them. When you meet them, you will be able to observe their movement, lifestyle, grooming and behaviors. You will be allowed to take photos for keeping memories after which you will return back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver to transfer you back to the hotel. Relax, have dinner and stay for the night at the same Orchid Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali

Wake up early once again and have breakfast after which you will be transferred back to Kigali. The journey will be about 7 hours passing through Nyungwe again. Enroute, you visit the King’s Palace in Nyanza and Butare National Museum before proceeding to Kigali where you will have lunch. After that connect directly to the airport for your drop off. End of 3 days Kahuzi Biega National Park Safari.

Note that your Rwanda Visa expires immediately when you cross into Congo so you will have to reapply for another while at the border and find it ready after the tour.
