Required Vaccinations for DRC Congo: DRC is the largest and most populated country in central Africa. It is mostly referred to as Congo Kinshasa. This is to distinguish it from its neighbor the Republic of Congo or Congo Brazzaville.
There is extreme adventure in this country and it a big destination for most travelers. Form hiking mountains like Nyiragongo to Trekking gorilla and floating on River Congo, DRC is one special pace one needs to visit.

Malaria and regions within country:
Congo receives a lot of rain and there is a lot of stagnant water and thick forest that harbor mosquitoes, therefore there are high chances of malaria.
Anti-malarial medication is advisable, carry some.
Malaria chemoprophylaxis for high risk zones:
Doxycycline OR Atovaquone/Proguanil OR Mefloquine
If all other anti-malarials are not deemed suitable, Chloroquine plus Proguanil can be used but it is less effective.
Ebola Virus Disease in Democratic Republic of Congo (Update)
The DRC last heard an Ebola case in 2014 and it was declared Ebola free on 20th November 2014. Its very true the DRC has had several out breaks of Ebola since the 1970’s but the outbreaks have been under control all the time. It’s now safe to travel to DRC.
Yellow Fever.
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory to get access into the country. Make sure you carry your vaccination card. Other vaccinations you may need are…Hepatitis A, Diptheria, Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis B and Malaria.
