Best Places to see Gorillas in Africa : Most people would wonder why gorillas have been increasingly sought after. Yes they are special animals and have close relations with humans.
They have interesting facts and yet they have been increasingly threatened by human activity have reduced in number.
They are about 900 of them left in the entire world and these can only be seen in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This park has 4 tracking points and each point has more than one family which gives us a variety and you have all the possible chances of seeing the gorillas.
There is much activity going on in this park and so the development is also good. You will have a wide range of accommodation facilities to choose from.
A gorilla permit in Uganda goes for $600 and you can access Bwindi both from Entebbe and also Via Kigali. Its about 5 hours from Kigali and about 9 hours from Entebbe, therefore the choice is yours.
Mgahinga National Park
This park has one family and it is the smallest park in Uganda. Most people prefer Bwindi which makes this park less crowded. This park also has golden monkeys that you will not meet in any other park in Uganda.
Like Bwindi, you can also access it through Kigali or Entebbe. A gorilla permit here is also $600
Volcanoes National Park
This Rwanda’s Biggest and oldest park in Africa. It is where conservation in Africa begun from. The gorilla research was also conducted here and if you are into how gorillas were discovered and all the ancient studies, this is the best place.
Its about 2 hours from the capital Kigali which makes it even easier because you can arrive with an early morning flight and track on that very same day.
If you have no time for the long drives this is also ideal for you. A gorilla permit here costs $1500
Virunga National Park
The Virunga National park is another place you can trek gorillas and its found in DRC near the Congo-Rwanda Boarder.
Like Bwindi and Mgahinga, you can also access it through Kigali and this is the most advised route. Its about 4 hours from Kigali to this national park. A gorilla permit in DRC cost $400 which makes it the cheapest gorillas destination.
