This 6 Days Flying Uganda Rwanda Primates Safari offers you a convenient way to experience Uganda and Rwanda. During this safari, you will be flying to Kibale National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for chimpanzee trekking and gorilla trekking experiences, respectively. You will then drive to Rwanda for golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park before being dropped off in Kigali. This tour starts in Entebbe, Uganda, and ends in Kigali city in Rwanda.

Detailed itinerary for 6 Days Flying Uganda Rwanda primates Safari
Day 1: Fly to Kibale Forest national park
Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe International Airport on the first day of the safari, you will connect for your domestic flight to Kasese airstrip, which departs from Entebbe airport at around 7:00 am or 10:30 am and arrives at Kasese airstrip at around 8:15 am or 11:45 am, respectively.
Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale national park and upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for lunch where after you will go for an interesting nature walk in Bigodi swamp where you will be able to view different primate species, birds, mammals, plant and tree species among others. After the swamp walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation experience
After an early breakfast on the second day of the safari, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about chimpanzee habituation. After the briefing you will enter the forest and start trekking in search of the chimpanzees. During the trekking you will be able to view different wildlife species, other primate species, view different bird species, tree species among others. Once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend four hours with them in their environment which gives you a chance to watch them feed, breastfeed, hunt, patrol, rest, play, fight, build new nests in the evening, monitor their habits, behaviors, take photos among others.
After spending time with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Fly to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the third day of the safari, you will enjoy breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kasese airstrip for your domestic flight to Kisoro airstrip. Upon arrival, you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to your lodge for lunch where after you will either spend the rest of the day at leisure or go for an optional Batwa cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa people, learn about their way of living, enjoy their traditional entertainment among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the safari, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during trekking. After the briefing you will start trekking in the forest which takes a full day and during trekking you will be able to view other wildlife species including other primate species, different trees among others.
Once the gorillas under habituation process are located you will be allowed to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn and monitor their habits, behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities, engage in the naming process, take photos among others. After the face to face interacting with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet your driver guide and return back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight as above.
Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National park
Wake up for a transfer to Volcanoes National Park. The drive goes through the beautiful country side and peoples homesteads along with amazing views of the Virunga Volcanoes. On arrival at Ruhengeri with en route lunch and then connect to relax at your lodge. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Golden monkey tracking and departure to Kigali
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and later enter the forest and hike while in search of the golden monkeys. Tracking the golden monkeys rewards views of other primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys, Olive baboons among others.
After golden monkey trekking, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kigali with en-route lunch. Upon arrival in Kigali the driver guide will drop you off at Kigali international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
